Summer seems to be the time when true relaxation takes places. Schedules are thrown out the window and in their place, time for spontaneous actions or just lounging in pajamas until noon. The warm weather and long daylight hours lend themselves to early morning reading at the park, afternoon reading at a cafe or evening reading by the lake. Or, if you're like me, reading while nursing a baby and talking to your older children.
How do I choose my books? I am constantly reading and talking to people about what to read! I greatly enjoy reading book reviews and get excited to wander around my local book shop. The places that I most often consult for book recommendations are:
- Print: The Globe and Mail Globe Books, The New York Times Book Review
- Online sources: Cup of Jo, Reading My Tea Leaves
- My local bookshop, second hand stores and going to bookshops while travelling
- Finally, friends & family often have the best recommendations
